How to play

Goal: Be the first to move your piece all the way around the board counter-clockwise and back to the Start/Finish circle at the bottom-right.

The board has 29 spots β€” 20 around the outer square and 9 along the diagonal shortcut paths. Pieces start at the bottom-right and move counter-clockwise: up the right edge, left along the top, down the left edge, and right along the bottom back to finish.

Shortcuts are taken only when a piece lands exactly on a shortcut circle. The top-right corner shortcuts diagonally toward the center. The center circle (only when arriving from the top-right arm) shortcuts directly to the finish. The top-left corner shortcuts diagonally all the way to the finish.

Capture: If your piece lands on the same spot as your opponent's piece, the opponent goes back to start and you earn an extra throw.

The sticks (윷 Yut): In the traditional game, four wooden sticks are thrown. Each has a rounded bark side and a flat cut side. The number landing flat-side-up determines how many spaces you move. In this version, four coins represent the sticks.
